The Path To Leave Addiction
by David Peters
Make up your mind to stop drinking “Chance favors only the prepared mind”. You are crazy, you binge so much you don’t have any chance at all to stop drinking. Does your inner self say this? Fight against it. In your decision to stop drinking, the first barrier you need to cross is your negative self. Be positive you can stop drinking. Well get alcohol out of sight. Gift your bottles to your enemy!….
Take a break, away from home on a vacation for a day or two. Recollect the moment you were fired by your boss for not completing an important project; he blocked your salary hike because of that, you were drunk and mesmerized in a different world when you had to complete that project. You lost your promotion, a salary hike a loss this year!
Close your eyes, breath in a movement, set a goal, a prayer, a decision to stop drinking, tell it to your inner conscious self 5 times that you are going to stop drinking. Repeat this everyday before sleep and early in the morning. Your involuntary senses will listen to your need. You will see the result of this one-minute therapy instantly.
Create your own tricks and plans to stop drinking. Work out a simple plan, compensate the time you have been drinking with some hobbies, help your wife out in the kitchen during those hours. Do some basic mechanic jobs in your household or in your office, organize your book shelf. Help your kids with their lessons. Go research for the right hobby that suits you. There are many heavenly and easy activities in the world other than spending your time drinking. You will realize what you have wasted in life and you would have become productive. Go crazy about researching on how to make a billion dollars in 120 days. See there are many things to do rather than killing yourself.
Get together with a group of friends who sail in the same boat as you. Who wish to stop smoking. Discuss on how to stop drinking as a Team. TEAM- Together Everyone Achieves More! Oops! Together Everyone Drink Less-TEAL. Group projects work miracles. So work as a TEAL! Alcoholic Anonymous is an example of a TEAL.
Why don’t you get some guidance from your primary care provider. He is likely to guide you in the right track towards sobriety. He can help you throw off your temptation. He may suggest you some medication that really helps.
Avoid friends who make fun over your idea of quitting alcohol. Throw them away for a while until you are done with your goal. Create an environment of people who have succeeded in quitting alcohol. List out on a clearly visible area the little accomplishments at home, at office, in health, in romance that you come across after stopping alcohol you will be encouraged by the way things have changed. This practice, your sentiments, your strong will, your doctor, your community together will help you recover soon.
