Exercise! Help Build Your Child’s Immune System!
by Stacy Kubach

Regular exercise can help boost your child’s immune system. Health-conscious parents want to help their children build a strong body that will last them a lifetime. Kids exercise all the time without even thinking of it. Just being active, like when they run around outside or play kickball at school, is a form of exercise.

Health-conscious parents spend time exercising with their kids every day. They walk their kids to the bus stop, and coach them during soccer and baseball practice. They also take them swimming; some even take their teenagers to workout at the gym with them. Healthy families take weekend hikes and bike trips. New moms take their babies jogging in their strollers. During family exercise, parents can observe their kids’ behaviors and energy output. They watch to make sure they are perky and having fun.

In family sports, parents also look to ensure their children are exhibiting traits of team work and healthy competition. To health-conscious parents, it is not just about “exercise” but also involves an opportunity to bond and share in the joy being with their kids’ peers.

Exercise also generates mood-stabilizing serotonin within the brain, producing a feeling of wellbeing and mental stability. 20 to 30 minutes of aerobic exercise is minimal for a healthy child. Exercise is not only fun but it also generates mental benefits that last all day long. Remember that exercise relieves stress and promotes a “tiredness” that is an antecedent to a good night’s sleep.

After all, exercise can help create a stronger bond with your children and is also good for you. So for all you health-conscious parents, help boost your child’s immune system-exercise with your kids!

Elliptical Fitness Trainers – Which One Is Right For You?
by Kenneth Patrick

Elliptical trainers have proven to be both a safe and effective way to burn calories and lose weight. The elliptical trainer has saved many a knee from the constant pounding and stretching other types of cardio equipment mesh out.

What are your exercise goals? Make sure you take these into account when starting your research into purchasing an elliptical trainer. Many elliptical trainers today are not worth the money and do very little in meeting a person’s exercise goals.

Make sure you do a thorough assessment of your fitness needs before buying an elliptical trainer. Many times we short change ourselves and invest in a piece of equipment that never meets our needs and finds its way into the dark corner of our garage. Elliptical trainers can be the most beneficial piece of exercise equipment you will ever own but not if you buy the wrong one.

After you have done a thorough assessment of your fitness requirements, it is time to take the following into your further review:

1. Stride length of the elliptical trainer is important in determining that you will get the maximum benefit out of your elliptical trainer.

2. Levels of resistance is paramount in assessing an elliptical trainers. If you want an intense workout, make sure the elliptical trainer has at least 20 levels of resistance.

3. You don’t want to get bored with the same old routine, so check out to see if they have a variety of programs available with the elliptical trainer.

4. Arm workouts along with the legs can be extremely beneficial with an elliptical trainer. You might want to add this criteria along with heart rate monitor to your list.

Once you have compiled this information, look at the MSRP of the elliptical trainer and see if the price justifies the added options. You might save some money by going to a less expensive elliptical trainer if it still meets your basic needs.
