There is a relatively new hair treatment, or at least it is new to most people. This new technique is called thermal reconditioning and it will allow those individuals who want to tame their locks or get rid of their curls all together a chance to do so. In fact thermal reconditioning will straighten your hair whether it is frizzy, curly or wavy. An added bonus of this technique, that is in stark contrast to the other treatments available is thermal reconditioning if done properly will greatly improve the health of your hair.
Thermal reconditioning is a patented system which was developed in 1996 by Ms. Yuko of Japan. This unique system uses a heat oxidation process to seal in and rebuild hair from the inside out by using a combination of hair friendly products and irons that reach up to 356 degrees. Once the procedure is completed most individuals will walk away with healthy rejuvenated straight and sleek looking hair. Once your hair has been treated it will remain straight however your new growth will have to be touched up, generally this is necessary twice a year.
This process is a very involved process with several steps. A protein is applied to freshly washed hair, then a specially formulated solution is added to the hair which essentially cuts the bonds that hold the natural curl. Once this process is finished the hair is rinsed and a protective protein is applied to the hair. The hair is then partially dried to a specific degree before being hot ironed with a special thermal iron which reaches 356 degrees Fahrenheit. After the hair is flattened with the irons a neutralizer is applied. The hair is again rinsed, conditioned, dried and flat ironed again.
It is important to recognize however that thermal reconditioning will not work for everyone. Before the procedure you will have to under go an assessment to verify that you are a good candidate. Thermal reconditioning for instance will not work on individuals of African decent because their fragile hair can not with stand the heat of the procedure. Another issue that will be addressed during your assessment is the amount and type of prior processing that your hair has already under gone. Highlights and bleaching processes may have to be dealt with prior to you under going thermal reconditioning. A consultation is always necessary.
The cost of thermal reconditioning is determined by several factors including the thickness and length of your hair, the current condition, the amount of processing chemicals already present and of course the stylists experience. Once everything is considered your thermal reconditioning will cost you between three hundred and one thousand dollars. The cost basically comes down to time as this procedure can take up eight hours to perform. You should also be aware that your touch ups will cost roughly the same amount as your original treatment.
As this procedure does require specific training to perform properly ensure you look into your stylist’s experience and credentials. If you are using a stylist who is not competent you may come out with damaged hair. You have every right to ask for recommendations and proof of training.
It should also be noted that thermal reconditioning is known by several different names including thermal reconstruction, ionic retexturing, rebonding and Japanese hair straightening.

Do you snore? Have you ever wondered what is causing this snoring? Well snoring is a noise produced when an individual breathes during sleep which in turn causes vibration of the soft palate and uvula. The word “apnea” means the absence of breathing.
Snorers have incomplete obstruction of the upper airway. Some snorers have complete episodes of upper airway obstruction where the airway is completely blocked for a period of time, usually 10 seconds or longer. This silence is usually followed by snorts and gasps as the individual fights to take a breath. In case you are suffering from sleep apnea snoring, one of the main reasons for it can be a blocked breathing airway that in turn can be caused by allergies, poor positioning of the tongue or jaw and even by throat weakness.
Sleep Apnea Snoring Is Potentially Life-Threatening
Snoring apnea often causes you to gasp for air while you are sleeping which causes a concern on several levels the first one being that it is a potentially life-threatening condition that requires immediate medical attention. The risks of undiagnosed obstructive sleep apnea include heart attacks, strokes, impotence, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure and heart disease
Snoring apnea episodes can occur thirty times in a night at the very least and as many as three hundred times at the other end. Each attack of snoring apnea can last longer then ten seconds and cause reduced oxygen levels in your blood and that in turn makes the heart work faster and harder.
In addition, when Snoring apnea persists over a few days there are other symptoms that will be cropping up including daytime sleepiness that can result in accidents, lost productivity feeling jittery as well as having poor concentration and even experiencing headaches. It also affects your personal relationship as your partner many not be getting a good nights sleep either and they also may be becoming irritable.
The type of people that snoring apnea is likely to affect are males as well as overweight persons and even people over forty years old will experience the problem. Apnea can also affect children as well. Even large tonsils or excessive throat tissue can cause snoring apnea and so too can an especially large size neck.
When you beginning to notice symptoms of snoring apnea, it is recommended to get the condition diagnosed at the early as possible go and visit your local doctor who can advise on the most appropriate treatment for you. Treatment can consist of self-help or getting continuous positive airway pressure applied or surgery and it is usually applied in case of very serious cases such as having a deformity in the nasal septum. The severity of the symptoms may be mild, moderate or severe.

Drug use among teenagers has reached tragic levels. No matter how vigilant you are, your teenagers are going to be exposed to drugs at school, the very place you believe to be a safe environment. Mrs. Reagan’s ‘Just say no to drugs’ campaign was a complete failure. The fact is that teens view adults as old stupid people that don’t know their head from a hole in the ground. Adults, try as they may, face an uphill war in protecting their children from the ravaging effects of drugs.
The challenge is made more difficult by the fact that most of us have prescription drugs in our medicine cabinets. When confronting the issue of teens and drugs, you have to give them a rational argument that differentiates between necessary medications and street drugs. This isn’t easy. Some well known prescription medicines are being peddaled in schools as a way to get high. Teens don’t know that these prescriptions are issued in duplicate or triplicate, as a method to control the use of certain narcotics. Not having experienced a legitimate need for such drugs themselves, they may well conclude that their parents are enjoying some high that they are somehow being forbidden.
One more problem with educating children on the issue of teen drug abuse is that society does not make any distinction between drugs. Some pharmaceutical drugs are needed, but when it comes to our youth and drugs, we tell them that every drug is bad. This is patently false. Some teenagers require medications for actual problems. Used improperly, that medication can get a child high who doesn’t need it. Sometimes, that drug can have disastrous consequences when used as a ‘recreational’ drug.
Kids are not able to make those distinctions. For example, a patient with extreme pain due to arthritis or cancer, could be prescribed codeine or another opiate to help with the pain. Kids don’t comprehend that this patient doesn’t get high. That med only eases the pain. However, in the world of teenagers and drugs, this narcotic becomes an opportunity toget a head change. They don’t know the difference.
One huge deception that encourages teenage drug abuse is the fable of weed. This street drug is made out to be the first step to drug addiction, thrown in the same bag as lsd and ice. The second that middle school kid tries pot, the child sees that even though it gets them high and they like it, they can hide this new habit from their parents and it doesn’t make them crazy. They come to the conclusion that the rest of the warnings about kids and drugs are lies. That’s the reason why they fall into the grip of the really dangerous drugs.
As a society, we need to teach our children. Explain the effects of drugs. Lsd, crack, heroin and drugs like ‘ecstasy’ can destroy their lives or kill them. Tell the truth. We can help our kids.Addiction is a serious problem in our society today but with the “proper” education we can teach our future generations the realities of addictions and drug abuse.

If you have strolled the aisles of a beauty supply store lately, you may have been overwhelmed at the huge selection of products available. Today, you can find a beauty product that promises to do everything possible to make your skin, hair and body more attractive. But which beauty product will actually deliver on its promises and which ones do you really need to stock up on? Read on for the best tips in stocking all the supplies necessary for a more beautiful you, whether you hit the stores or find your favorite beauty products online.
Cleansing
The first step to beautiful skin is to keep it clean. Cleansing is usually recommended in a three-step process that includes a beauty product for cleansing, toning and moisturizing, respectively. The best way to choose beauty products for these needs is to select them according to your skin type. Most women fall into three categories; oily, dry or normal. Some will have a combination of two, perhaps sporting dryer cheeks and an oily T-zone along the forehead, nose and chin. When you know which type of skin you have, you will be better equipped to find a beauty product to address your individual needs and also cellulites.
As a general rule, toners tend to be more important if your skin is extremely oily, while moisturizers are primarily a necessity for dry skin. Some women may choose to replace one of these items with a different type of beauty product or forgo the additional step altogether. For example, a woman with oily skin may replace the moisturizer with an acne lotion or a wrinkle cream that can provide a specific purpose.
Extras
In addition to the regular cleansing routine, many women will add a beauty product or two that will give an extra lift to the beauty regimen. One option is a mask tailored to your specific skin type that can be used once or twice a week for deep cleansing and conditioning of the skin. Another possibility is to use an exfoliating beauty product that will remove the dead, surface skin cells, leaving smoother, softer and blemish free skin underneath. Wrinkle reducers are another good addition if you are hitting your thirties or forties and beginning to see the effects of the aging process on your skin. Some women will also opt for a beauty product for the eyes that can reduce the look of puffiness and dark circles for a more beautiful appearance.
The right beauty product will make all the difference in the face you take out in the world everyday. However, that doesn’t mean you have to buy out the beauty counter at your department store to look your best. The best beauty product will be tailored to your individual skin type and your unique needs.
