Female infertility is a big issue for many women due mainly to the desire to have a child of their own. Other than not being able to conceive or carry pregnancy to full term, other signs of female infertility are irregular menstrual cycles, abnormal weight loss or gain, excessive hair growth, recurrent acne out of puberty, pain during menstruation and intercourse and irregular basal body temperature.

An irregular menstrual cycle can be a sign of female infertility because these may signify damage, blockage or injury to some parts of the female reproductive system. Excessive bleeding causes female infertility, in the sense that there is something wrong with how the menstrual cycle works for a particular woman. The absence of menses is also an indication of infertility.

Fluctuation in weight, irregular hair growth and acne over the age of puberty are also signs of female infertilitybecause these are sometimes caused by hormonal imbalances which can affect the female reproductive system. Hormones control many of our body’s basic functions and having an imbalance in this aspect can cause a lot of irregularities in the body. Particularly painful menstrual cramps can also be signs of female infertility since this signal endometriosis which can cause blockage or damage to some parts of a woman’s reproductive system. Endometriosis can block passages in and around the reproductive system.

Basal body temperature is taken to check when a woman is most fertile and when she is not. Irregular basal body temperature is included in the signs of female infertility. Some women who may be infertile can have basal body temperatures which fluctuate irregularly or never reach the degree which indicates fertility.

These signs of female infertility are the most basic. There are other signs of female infertility which can be seen after the attending physician has done some in depth tests to seek out answers.
