Count to 10.

Mother tells her children this when they become angry. It is very effective.

Count to ten when you recognise stress coming. It does not matter if you do it loudly or quietly.

Sometimes this is all you need for simple stress or if you recognise it early.

Some people prefer to count down from ten to zero. This way it feels as if you are scaling down stress and at zero, it is gone.

 

Take a deep breath.

Inhale taking deep long slow breaths. Breathe in slowly through your nostril and fill your lungs completely. Exhale through your mouth slowly after holding your breath to the count of four.

Repeat a few times and as your breathing becomes slower, a calm and relaxed feeing takes over. Like counting, this is a quick and easy stress controller.

Furthermore, you can, as you breathe in and hold your breath create a picture in your mind of all stress slowly diffusing into your lungs and when you breathe out, you are slowly expelling the stress for a calmer and more relaxed you.

You can also use a stress relief squeez ball.

 

Take a walk.

This is a good way to gain stress relief quickly.

When the task is very stressful, take a break, just walk away from it. I do not mean walk away from it for good. You are removing the problem temporarily. It gives you time to come to grips with is as you calm down.

By doing this you are removing a stressful problem from the forefront of your mind and allow your Subconscious Mind to find solution options. Stanley Morgan, the eponymous financier, when stuck with a problem and no solution, would stop what he was doing and play solitaire. It was’nt long before in his mind, several ideas came foward.

You can go for a walk especially in the park. Being near to nature is very relaxing. You tend to synchronise with the frequency of earth. Your brainwave drops to this frequency for peace and tranquillity. You become relaxed and calm. You can get the vacuum cleaner out and clean the house. From your mind you are removing the problem. When you do this, you will notice a different feeling and approach to your task.

In addition exercise relieves stress.

It is recognised that exercise reduces stress.

 

Talk to someone or write a journal.

An excellent stress buster. You are sharing your problem by talking to someone. If that someone is experienced in your field, you may get some invaluable tips. It opens your mind to a wider approach to your problem. It may make you aware that you are not alone. You have shared your problem and will not feel isolated.

There is no better stress buster than a simple thought or idea in your mind that will lead to the solution to your problem. You become focussed and energised because you can now see success as the only outcome. Your stress will changes to the desired stress that produces peak performance.

Writing a journal is also a good stress buster. It anchors what specific things are stressing you. Putting it down on paper transfers it into words that you can choose whether to discard or keep. This is an outlet for stress. So if you are alone, or there is no one to talk to when things are going wrong, write it down in your stress journal. Ink on paper is the next best thing.

DON’T STRESS YOUR SCALP…. Avert SOME Hair Loss!

You are largely-likely aware that having Bariatric or Gastric Bypass surgery DOES cause you to understanding “a few” type of hair loss as you lose the weight  so rapidly.  You’ve heard the rumors, and they are TRUE to the point that you WILL LOSE several hair… but you will not be bald in the smallest amount!  In all of my years attending a support group, NEVER have I  seen one bald personage yet!  So rest assured that although you DO lose “some” hair, it won’t be everything.

Permit’s simplify this topic by putting it in a question/answer format:

Q:  Why do we lose several hair?
A:   As a pre-op person, you used to consume among 3,000 to 5,000 calories a day.  But once you have the surgery, your caloric intake is drastically reduced to a mere 300-600 calories a day.  This puts  the body in an “emergency” mode as it thinks something is terribly wrong, and it begins to focus ONLY on supporting the important organs that will sustain life.  Hair has never been under the category of  a “life-sustaining” organ; therefore, the body puts the hair on the back-burner until it is assured that the body is going to be okay adequate to again send nutrients to the hair.

Q:  When does hair loss  begin?
A:  It normally will begin anywhere from one month following surgery and final until concerning 6 months following surgery.  Of course, this can begin during the third month or else even extend beyond the sixth  month.  It varies from person to individual.

Q:  How much hair is lost?
A:  Any will jokingly tell you that they could build a cat out of everything the hair they lost, but that is not actual.  While you will  notice any handfuls come out as you wash your hair in the shower, recognize more than usual in your comb otherwise hairbrush, and maybe even see some on your pillow when you wake up in the morning –  this is  nothing to be alarmed over.  IT WILL STOP FALLING OUT once the body begins to feel that lifestyle is “usual” and it will trust that it’s okay to send nutrients to the hair again.  Be patient and know  that it DOES STOP in period.

There ARE any TIPS that will help you NOT knowledge so much hairlessness, however…..

DO NOT wear a hat, scarf, head bands, tight barrettes, ponytail holders or anything  identical that will pull otherwise tug on the follicles of your hair.  Pulling and pushing on the hair weakens it when it is already eager to fall out.  Prevent these items for at least the first six months  following surgery.

DO NOT stress the hair with warm treatments such as hairdryers, curling irons, otherwise hot rollers.  Stand in front of a fan to dry your hair in a hurry and use fine hair jells to create any  curl if you require.  Sprays are okay also.  Even hair color is okay IF you do it sparingly rather than the standard automatic each 6 weeks.  Try to go 8 weeks in between hair coloring.  Perms are a bit  more stressful, though a few have had success doing them.  You’ll should think this for yourself as you evaluate this for yourself.  You can always be confident in asking your hairdresser about it if  you are not certain.

DO TRY a current hair style.  As heavy public, we regularly relied on our hair’s BEST looks to draw attention away from our extra pounds.  But as you are losing, citizens aren’t noticing your  hair anymore… they are noticing the pounds falling off, which is a perfect period for you to judge deeply varying your hair style IF it will help you manage it greater and too shield more of it on  your head.  Long hair is a heaviness on the head, which does stress and pull at the hair follicles.  So possibly a shorter style would help your delicate hair stay ON the head.  Just as your body is  experiencing a “makeover”, why not think your hairstyle as really…. Mainly if it will help you KEEP more hair?

DO TRY to remember that your hair is only dropping out temporarily and it will soon STOP and STAY ON again!  A few public have qualified that their hair soon becomes healthier than  they’ve ever had sooner than!  Sometimes the texture even changes…. Sounds FUN, huh?  It can be!

BOTTOM LINE:  Have a GOOD ATTITUDE concerning your hair… take care of it, baby it, and you’ll discover that you’ll be  out of that FALLING OUT Zone shortly!  These days’s hairstyles ARE more relaxed, and with the correct cut, you’ll look just as glamorous as a superstar!  Don’t despair…. Just know that we’re NOT a group of  baldies!!!

MRSA Staph is a Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria. This micro-organism is known for causing skin infections, in addition to, many other types of ailments. There are other designations in the scientific literature for this bacteria based on where the bacteria is acquired by patients. The two main origins of STAPH are hospitals or epidemic MRSA (EMRSA) and community acquired MRSA (CA-MRSA).

 

WHAT ARE THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS 

MRSA Staph presents as a small, red and tender area of skin that is similar to a bug bite or pimple. When the bacterial infection disperses, the skin swells and festers. This expands to become a carbuncle, more serious than an abscess with the wound exposed, or pus filled, ready to burst.

This progression is serious and life-threatening. A practitioner assessment is critical. Additional signs that an infection is developing include the following:

  • Fever
  • Yellow/white or greenish drainage that may have a foul odor
  • Tender red/dark pink area on the surface of the skin that is growing in size

The following symptoms may indicate the infection has spread:

  • Shortness of breath (concern for pneumonia)
  • Shaking chills (infection of the blood or heart valves)
  • Severe headache that is different from your normal headache patterns
  • Extreme weakness and low blood pressure
  • Joint pains accompanying any of the above symptoms

As many as 1.2 million U.S. hospital patients are infected with Staph MRSA each year, nearly 10 times as many as previously estimated. According to APIC officials, 1,237 hospitals and nursing homes responded to the survey, or about 21% of U.S. inpatient health care facilities (Stobbe, AP/Houston Chronicle, 6/07). William Jarvis, former acting director of the hospital infections program at CDC — found that 34 of 1,000 patients had active MRSA infections, and 12 of 1,000 patients were colonized with MRSA, which amounts to an MRSA incidence rate of 46 per 1,000 patients.
