Collagen and Fat Injections for Smoother Skin

Most surgical procedures, such as chemical peels and laser resurfacing are meant to remove the outer layers of skin, forcing new collagen growth that eventually fills in

the wrinkles. The alternative approach is to fill in the wrinkles with an injectable substance such as collagen or fat. This fills in the defects giving the skin a smoother appearance.

The most common filler is bovine collagen. Since there’s a risk of sensitivity, a skin

take a look at is required before its use. There are currently bioengineered collagen products that are non-allergic and do not need a skin

check, along with synthetic fillers. Another alternative could be a transplant

of your own collagen or even fat removed by a mini-liposuction procedure simply before injection.

Typically you’ll receive a native anesthetic and therefore the collagen product will be injected directly

beneath the surface of the skin. There may be some bruising or swelling in the treated areas.

The collagen injection restores the skin’s natural collagen and you skin will look younger because it fills out.

Simply like your own natural collagen, injected collagen will eventually start to break down and would like to be replaced. You

may need to repeat the treatment several times a year. But, injected fat tends to last a heap longer and also the results

might be permanent, especially if it was injected into other areas within the face containing fat.

In keeping with a report issued by the Harvard Medical College, a replacement product is being developed

that’s designed to produce new collagen as needed. Referred to as Isolagen, it uses a sample of your own skin to clone fibroblasts, the cells that

produce collagen. Since this is a replacement procedure, its long term effects are still unknown.

Anyone who watches movies or TV is aware of the results of overdoing these types of procedures. Several famous actresses wound up with lips paying homage to Bozo the Clown from overzealous collagen injections. Make sure you use a doctor experienced in this procedure and

be frank with him on the results you expect to receive.

When properly done the results ought to be undetectable and natural looking, supplying you with another weapon against wrinkles and creases in your

face.

chemical peels @ 2:57 pm #

Myself, i would be inclined to try more natural and non-surgical methods first like anti-aging creams etc but if i found they didn’t work then it would be a case of consulting my doctor/ GP to see what advise they could offer me before i considered surgery.

A lot of information here about the likes of collagen injections and the likes.

Great post and very informative.
