Does Weight Watchers Really Work?

4

Weight Watchers is one of the most popular weight loss programs on the market today, and recently, the program has experienced changes. The changes are intended to allow more people to use the program.

The Basics

Weight Watchers is based on the POINTS® system. Every time a food is eaten, points are then deducted. Dieters are given a set amount of points for the day, and then they deduct the points as they consume food.

Meetings are also available every seven days for those in the program. Part of the meeting is used to weigh dieters, and the rest of the meeting is to speak with other dieters and get advice from leaders.

The Cons

Weigh ins can be stressful when people are retaining water or have hit a slump in their weight loss, the weekly weigh ins can end up bringing them down.

Other Points

It is important to note a small fee is charged for meetings. Once the fee is paid, people can use the meetings and the internet to learn more about the program and to get support. For many people, this is very helpful. They are able to use the meetings for guidance during their weight loss journey.

New Choices

Weight Watchers has added new choices to the plan, including chocolate, cereal, bread and frozen meals, as well as others. The new choices are expected to give more people the opportunity to use the plan. It is more inclusive than it used to be.

Does it Work?

If you’ve been searching for safe weight loss recommendations, here is our honest opinion. This plan has managed to help a large number of people lose weight. Those who follow the point values can take off extra pounds, but it is important for people to realize they still need to exercise and eat healthy. In addition, certain foods will help the exercise process along, and dieters need to take that into consideration when planning meals. It works when people use everything the program gives them.

Very much agreeing with you on your closing statement. It’s not enough to bring down your weight by following a regimen. You have to have a healthy lifestyle. Eat a balanced diet and exercise. Who knows, maybe you’ll achieve more success with this than buying diet pills or going on a strict weight-loss diet.

Well, my observation is that today people are ready to do *anything* to lose unwanted weight…. From pills, creams, patches, to endless diets, starve etc….

When in fact all it takes is some common sense.. Like, you wanna lose weight? Well get off that couch and go walk for 30 mins. Is that so difficult? And put off that bag of chips away :)

Losing unwanted weight is easier than most people think it is. There is no magic pill that will help you get rid of unwanted weight. It all starts in your head; therefore if you want to do something, you will do that no matter what!

Rebecca

I have never tried Weight Watchers, although I heard several good things about it from friends.

I might give it a try.

Thanks for reminding me,
Jill
