Eliminate The Need For Hiding Man Boobs
I have probably had a more varied experience of commercial life than most before qualifying as a Fitness Advisor and have met several guys who had poor posture and usually wore baggy shirts and sweaters. I never really gave any thought as to why guys developed a hunched posture, or indeed favoured baggy clothes, until I saw them
without clothes, when it became noticeable…they were hiding man boobs. I did not know anything about this sort of problem prior to entering the fitness industry so, when I joined the fitness world I decided to get hold of all the information that I could concerning the two main causes.
Very little knowledge was available, during my time at school in the 1960′s, concerning issues like gynecomastia but I had a classmate who may well have suffered from this conditiion. He used to try to be excused sports and games sessions if he could in order that he didn’t have to expose his body in the communal showers afterwards. As you might guess, he had to put up with remarks about his flabby chest from a minority of insensitive boys and therefore developed his real need for hiding man boobs.
I hope that [his condition went away naturally, which was, as I now appreciate, pubertal gynecomastia. We now know that over 90% of sufferers do grow out of what is called pubertal gynecomastia.
Back then the only option which doctors prescribed for gynecomastia was surgery as not much was known about the imbalance of hormones. Obviously, many guys had to then put up with the ubsightly scars that were left after the operation. It’s up to you to make up your mind which was worse…man boobs or scar tissue!
Some manufacturers identified a need for undergarments that could compress a man’s breast area so this type of compression garment became available to give help in hiding man boobs. These have been developed greatly over the years and are now available in several different types. Thought has to be given to a number of points before you make any kind of purchasing on such underwear as there are lots of manufacturers marketingcompression undergarments at prices varying from 70 to 200 dollars:
- Buy best quality and make sure that the garments are guaranteed for a minimum of 30 extreme washes and many more normal ones.
- Comfort and control are important pre-requisites of your chosen compression garment so ensure that the material is 3-way stretch.
- Look for soft fiber blends such as ‘Tactel’ or ‘Lycrasoft’.
- The material must be of the ‘breathable’ type to help moisture to escape and air to come in.
- The underwear must also have in-built anti-microbial properties because if not bacteria, mildew and moulds will flourish.
Due to the fact that you ought to be seeking a permanent answerto eliminating the problem, I won’t suggest any brands to help in hiding man boobs. it is more sensible to tackle the problem of excess male breast tissue head on. I have personally helped a number of clientsin the gym and worked with them to build a great chest by making lifestyle and dietary changes together with a structured workout regime. Because everyone is unique I can’t give a detailed chest program here but these are general guidelines:
- It goes without saying that you must be physically able to complete a variety of workouts and that there is no reason why you can’t do a specific chest workout as well.
- Warm up correctly for five minutes and additionally do some large muscle group stretches.
- Each large muscle group that you exercise should be worked for 25 to 30 minutes and no more.
- Ensure that your exercise form is correct with a good range of movement, neutral spine and that every repetition is performed in a steady, focussed manner.
- Add variety to your resistance exercises by combining free weights and machines.
- A 1-hour workout is sufficient.
Optimum results with your chest workouts will be achieved as follows:
- Vary the type of chest presses that you do, using dumbbells, barbells, Smith Machine and fixed machines.
- Adopt different positions…flat, incline, decline and seated.
- Use flye machines as well as dumbbell flyes and cable flyes. These, of course, will help shape the chest.
- Complete 3 sets of 3 to 5 different chest exercises, each set to contain 12 to 15 repetitions for a start.
- “Shock” your body every 4 to 6 weeks by adopting different exercises.
Having said all of the above, I do appreciate that some men simply do not like gyms, cannot afford them or don’t have one locally. There is also the possibility that the price of compression underwear is too great so I have researched other safe ways.
I have detailed the results of my research on my website, The Best Chest Guide, plus much more reading on both pseudogynecomastia and gynecomastia…the 2 triggers of excess male breast tissue and the need for hiding man boobs hich results from that. As a Fitness Professional, I would not suggest any systems that did not embrace my own views on diet, workouts and, naturally, lifestyle. The website is there for you to have a look, so feel free.
